The fund of rare and valuable publications is part of the main fund of the library, to which includes rare, especially valuable documents that have scientific, historical and polygraphic features.

The fund of rare and valuable publications of the library was created under direct supervision review of funds, library catalogs, according to the "Instructions on the selection procedure manuscript books, rare and valuable publications from library funds to the State of the register of national cultural heritage", approved by the Order No. 708 of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine dated November 20, 2001.

On the basis of MKU order No. 437 "On approval of the Procedure for the selection of manuscript books, rare and valuable publications to the State Register of National Cultural Property" from 14.06.2016

Fund of rare and valuable publications consists of various types and types of domestic and foreign ones publications, scientific, educational, reference, informational, production, popular scientific literature.

All documents, which belong to the fund of rare and valuable publications of the library, printed from the earliest years up to 1945 inclusive.

Created the electronic database "Fund of Rare Editions" using an automated library and information system "Liber-media".

A rare and valuable fund from 1824 to 1945 is in the library of the National University of Ukraine in educational building No. 1. There is a total of 2,582 documents. Among them are scientific - 2,152, educational - 14 and art books-416.

Rules use of documents of the fund of rare and valuable publications

1. The right to use of documents from the fund of rare editions is granted to users who have a permanent library card.

2. Work with old prints, rare and valuable documents are allowed only in the reading room halls for professors and teaching staff.

3. Old prints, rare and valuable documents cannot be photocopied, scanned, or photographed.
